Last weekend Summer had a last bow before scarpering off for the year. In fact the last week up until this Monday was altogether 'Summery' After the terrible, and well documented June-August, it was easy to forget just how nice it is outside when you don't have to wear three layers and a raincoat.
In fact the weather couldn't have been better timed. We'd planned for a few weeks to have Harrison's Birthday 'do' the Saturday after his Birthday. The added bonus that the sun offered was the icing on the Birthday Cake (hastily made by the Mrs and I the night before).
Harry had some cracking presents - Books, Walkie-Talkies, Clothes, El Tower of Doom and assorted scary monsters in a chariot thing, the afformentioned microphone thing and a bunch of money. Lucky blighter eh?
This is a lazy way of keeping a diary isn't it? Not that I've ever kept a diary but it's never too late to start you know....

17th September 2008
It was Harrison's third Birthday yesterday. Once again I am amazed at how fast time seems to go by when you measure it by the growth of your children.
As you would expect he was perfectly spoiled - and although his 'big' party will be on Saturday he still managed to rake in 'The Tower of Doom', a digital camera and a microphone (thanks, J & Marie - not!).

Back from The Lakes
Back from the lakes and back to reality. We all had a great time in the lake district. As is always the way, it was more of a change than a break with the keeping the kids happy occupying most of the daylight hours, but that's parenting eh?
It was out first visit to a Center Parcs, and based on this experience it won't be our last. The weather was predicatably rubbish but in all honesty, it didn't make too much difference. Harry and Ava were always happy bouncing along behind me in the bike trailer and being a Center Parcs, there was a ton of activities on offer.
So, back to work for the Mrs and I today. I'll leave you with one of my better shots of the week.

Summer is almost over...
It being September and everything, Summer is almost at and end.
If truth be known it never really arrived in South West England. I seem to remember May being sunny and quite warm, but since then, nothing. August was laughable. There were times when I genuinely wanted to stoke up the heating to try and get the dampness out of the air. I didn't, but honestly...
With the kids still pre-school age we're one of those families who can take advantage of the cheaper ratee once the little ones go back to school. Although a million miles away from what we originally planned to do, we're all off to the Lake District for a week from this Friday. Should be a chance to relax and to a certain degree the weather shouldn't matter too much with the indoor facilities of Centre Parcs.
Toodle pip.
